  1. Imaginethe work of inker, colourist and penciler together get totally REKT by a fucking 2 meter KACHOW from the Letterer

  2. I love the way art supplies are translated in the different romance languages… In French, a pencil is a crayon, in Spanish, a paintbrush is a pencil… It’s like the wild west of naming!

  3. Why are penciler inker and colorist different skill sets? I mean, lots of painters did all of that together.

  4. I always wanted to be a colorist. It’s not something people hire for anymore, but gah I always dreamed of it.

  5. Do letterers or pencilers do the typeface on background signs? Does the letterer add the words to a neon sign at a bar or does the penciler do that as well?

  6. ITT: People who don’t understand the role of an editor in comics vs the role of an editor at a newspaper or book publisher. This cartoon is exactly correct.

  7. Wow, I had no idea so many people were involved! You kinda think (or at least I did) it was just one guy, maybe two. Neat!

  8. The inker makes the PAF and POW, and also the speech bubble. Only the tekst in the bubble is done by a letterer.

  9. And in this case, after letterer there’s also translator, as Batman doesn’t speak French in the original

  10. So there are three people involved in the process of drawing? Really? I’ve never seen this.

  11. I’ve always wondered about this but the verbal explanations never helped. Thanks for posting this!
