  1. We can sell the French Anthony we have and buy the Brazilian Antony and play him along side Swedish Anthony.

  2. # Article Text

**Antony is determined to secure a move to Manchester United this summer even though Ajax have tried to ward off interest in the Brazil winger by demanding a fee of £69 million for his signature.**

**United’s priority in the transfer window is Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona midfielder, but they also want to add an attacker to their squad and have already spoken to Ajax about Antony.** Last season, the 22-year-old scored eight goals to help Ajax win the Eredivisie title under Erik ten Hag, who has since taken the reins at Old Trafford.

**Ajax are putting up some tough resistance, however, because of their strong financial position.** The Dutch champions have sold Ryan Gravenberch to Bayern Munich for £20 million and are on the verge of offloading Sébastien Haller to Borussia Dortmund for £31 million.

**They do not need to raise further funds, so they have indicated that they will only accept a huge offer of about £69 million for Antony. United were initially hoping to pay £40 million for the winger, who has three years left on his contract.**

    # That said, Antony is hopeful of moving to Old Trafford this summer. He believes that he is ready to play in the Premier League and is interested in working again with Ten Hag.

Ten Hag signed Antony from São Paulo in 2020 for just over £18 million. The versatile forward, who likes to cut in off the right wing on his left foot, has six Brazil caps.

    # Ajax also hope that they will keep their centre-backs Lisandro Martínez and Jurrien Timber out of United’s clutches. United are interested in signing one of the pair, but Ajax have told them that each would cost £51.5 million.

    # Of the two, Martínez is seen as the most realistic target. Timber has told Ajax that he does not want to leave because he needs guaranteed first-team football to make the cut for Holland’s World Cup squad.

Martínez, 24, was another key player in Ajax’s title triumph under Ten Hag. The Argentina international has three years left on his contract.

**Christian Eriksen, a free agent at the end of this month when his short-term deal with Brentford expires, is another United target.**

United’s neighbours Manchester City, meanwhile, have offered a contract to Stefan Ortega, the 29-year-old German goalkeeper who is set to leave Arminia Bielefeld on a free transfer. If Ortega joins City, Zack Steffen, could leave. The American, 27, has been Ederson’s back-up for the past two seasons.

  3. Fuck that’s too much. I’d love to have someone like him but if we didn’t pay 85 mil for Nunez not sure we’ll pay 69 mil (nice) for him.

  4. 69m pounds is ridiculous but thats their right obviously. If the 150m budget is accurate then we need a couple outgoings to make Antony + Martinez work.

  5. Can the player negotiate with their own club if he really wants to leave and lower the price tag

  6. Sancho and Antony on the wings would be mad. If they actually play good the dribbling would be insane.

  7. The Raphinha transfer saga seems very strange.

He looks certain to leave Leeds, but to where? He’s just stuck in limbo atm. Barcelona wanted him, but now cannot afford to buy him according to reports. Arsenal are favourites, but seem to be making 0 progress with the transfer. Man United should be all over him, but aren’t being linked with him whatsoever for whatever reason.

  8. For a player who hasn’t exactly put up mind-blowing numbers in the Dutch league that is about 29m too much I would say.

Honestly would rather just try Sancho/amad/pellistri on the right for a season and second the funds elsewhere.

  9. They keep adding 10 millions to the price with every new rumor, his price should be higher than the nation’s GDP soon.

  10. I was hoping 40-50m would get it done, but what do I know? Ten Hag knows the player better than most. If ETH wants Antony, then I hope we get him. Even if we overpay, I trust that ETH knows the potential is there.

  11. Lmao 70 million gbp 😂😂. Realistically he ain’t worth more than 45. If this is ajax’ fucj off price, look elsewhere, or bed in one of pellestri or amad

  12. We’re in a 5 year trophy drought with half our team having left, we only have about 5 players at the team left who have won something at this club. He’s a player ETH knows and trusts, allegedly wants to come and fits in a position we need filling. Just pay the money and move on to the next signing

  13. Forget him and move on, there are several players in his position who cost less and are absolutely available. If you don’t know who they are, do your own homework.

  14. I don’t think this guy is good enough yet for the PL.
Sancho was way better in a stronger league and disappeared when he came to England.

  15. Feel nice to have a player that want to join us for once. Hopefully we can get that price tag down tho

  16. Here’s an idea, put in the time and effort to sign quality players like Antony who actually want to join the club. Could have got him for cheaper if they had acted a few weeks early. Wasting so much time on FDJ, if he doesn’t join in the end this will be such a colossal failure of a transfer window smh..

  17. Are we determined to sign him though? We’ve been in “talks” for a while and pre-season starts in 2 weekdays
